Thales Système 3000 is a HFHigh Frequency (3-30 MHz) modem capable of many different modes of transmission. It has a unique preamble and format to its signals. This modem is equipted on TRC-3600 and TRC-1752 transceivers developed by Thales in France. The modem supports ciphered voice as well as data transmission. Digital voice is also available as per STANAGNATO Standardization Agreement (STANAG), defines processes, procedures, terms, and conditions for common military or technical procedures or equipment between the member countries of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). 4479 standards with 800 bpsBits per second (bps) w/with interleaving, or 2400 bpsBits per second (bps) according to STANAGNATO Standardization Agreement (STANAG), defines processes, procedures, terms, and conditions for common military or technical procedures or equipment between the member countries of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). 4198, without interleaving.

This modem has two primary modes of operation. Standard and Skyhopper. The wide range of abilities to transmit gives it high robustness in transmitting and receiving communications in any propagation situation.

This modem can use a low-rate robust 8-MFSKMultiple Frequency Shift-Keying mode at 375 bpsBits per second (bps) uncoded, 100bps user data rate. For higher rates, 2-PSKBinary Phase-Shift Keying (1 bit per symbol), 4-PSKQuadrature Phase-Shift Keying (2 bits per symbol), or 8-PSK8-Phase Phase-Shift Keying (3 bits per symbol) is used. With FECForward Error Correction, 5400 bpsBits per second (bps) uncoded throughput. In ARQAutomatic Repeat reQuestAutomatic Repeat Query mode, 4875 bpsBits per second (bps) is possible. At the end of each transmission, an ALEAutomatic Link Establishment is transmitted, 8-MFSKMultiple Frequency Shift-Keying with 250 HzHertz (Hz), unit of frequency, defined as one cycle per second (1 Hz). spacing between tones.

The Système 3000 supports and is interoperable with STANAG 4481, STANAG 4285, STANAGNATO Standardization Agreement (STANAG), defines processes, procedures, terms, and conditions for common military or technical procedures or equipment between the member countries of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). 5000, DCS100 (KG-84C), KY99, and MIL-STD-188-141A (2G ALE).
