Talk:STP403 Bus PIT System
This is an excellent analysis! Is it possible to figure out if this signal is specific to Keolis, since i'm sure that they contracted a contracting firm with an already-developed solution for this system. It'd be nice to know which firm developed this. Naming it for now as "Keolis Bus Display Telemetry" --Cartoonman (talk) 17:07, 24 February 2016 (NZDT)
Well you brought me luck ! I have tried to find the vendor or the protocol used for days and didn't find a result... And with a little more Googling I found that the protocol used in the upper layer is STP403, apparently created by INEO (Intelligent Transportation Systems firm) and CESATEC (bus display firm).
The only description of the protocol I found is here : http://client.cesatec.fr/bordeaux/getfile.php?version=63 . However, I'm not sure of what the lower layer is. It must be an existing fieldbus but I didn't find one that resembles what I saw. I'll try to drop some tools for decoding in github when I'm finished with the reverse engineering. Great! I'll keep the name updated as you find more information. STP403 seems to be very closely associated with the network called RS485, not sure if RS485 is the full network between busses, dispatch, and PITPassenger Information Terminals, such as bus timetable displays at bus stops displays, but this can easily be updated as more info comes to light. --Cartoonman (talk) 18:42, 26 February 2016 (NZDT)
