Description[edit]

A signal which looks like a very wide 4MSK, but has other tones to either side of the 4 main tones. Was seen at 22:38 AEST, but not at 22:42 AEST.

Analysis[edit]

Frequency shift of ~2260 HzHertz (Hz), unit of frequency, defined as one cycle per second (1 Hz). consistent with all tones involved. Total BW ~18100 HzHertz (Hz), unit of frequency, defined as one cycle per second (1 Hz). Including the tones outside the 4 main ones. When all 4 main tones are off, one of the outside tones is on. there is always one tone on at any given moment.

baudBaud (unit symbol Bd) is the unit for symbol rate or modulation rate in symbols per second. rate 50 BdBaud (unit symbol Bd) is the unit for symbol rate or modulation rate in symbols per second. consistent with all tones involved. Same length for every tone, even the outside ones.

Conclusion: possible 8MFSK very wide. extremely wide. Tones seen are consistent with transmission of data. Warrants further investigation.
