Talk:Noise over all HF bands

From Signal Identification Wiki
Jump to: navigation, search

The harmonics may be due to a overly powerful signal leaking throughout your HFHigh Frequency (3-30 MHz) band, try getting a portable setup to find a spot where the noise either diminishes to no harmonics or disappears to see if it's locally emitted. It's definitely noise since it doesn't have any digital data encoded, just a bunch of noise and tones. -Cartoonman

It reminds me of when the people downstairs have their television on and I'm scanning LW or SW on my portable Eton E5. -weatherall

I agree with weatherall. I get this when I turn on my plasma TV. My LCDs don't do this. -kevo

This is a plasma TV for sure. Have had experiences with Panasonic Vieras and these plasma tv's all cause interference in the same way. As a ham, they are a hobby-killer ;-) - questor
