Doesnt Flex also transmit 'Secure' data, not just the following listed...because PDW listed a 'Flex-C SECURE' message that appeared to be batched and or base64 encoded, or in this case, special ciphers..... Ive only had this happen on a more distant transmitter... Not just the two close ones I listen to... Ywsia1..

I haven't seen a FLEX Secure protocol in any of the literature on Motorola's FLEX protocol. If it's simply Base64, then it is merely encoded data, not really 'encrypted' It is obviously possible to send pre-encrypted data over FLEX, but given that FLEX simply sends data 'as is' without any headers or support for public key authentication, there isn't any encryption built in that I know of. A receiver receiving pre-encrypted data would have to know the method to decrypt with their own key or keys.--Cartoonman (talk) 18:10, 21 August 2017 (NZST)

it was just a format of FLEX, not a protocol. The modulation still remains the same, just the format of the message and the type was just called "Flex-C SECURE" message. I think it was a rather odd form of Flex myself, especially here in Michigan. However I do see a LOT of binary encoded either as hexadecimal or octal. But the secure format completely threw me off. I have to find the frequency again. Ywsia1.
