Datawell Buoy HF Link
Datawell Buoy HFHigh Frequency (3-30 MHz) Links transmitted by Datawell Marine measurement buoys, measuring ocean conditions, temperature, and wave current. Developed by Datawell BV in the Netherlands. The buoys get 50 km transmission range with the HFHigh Frequency (3-30 MHz) link. There are two transmission modes used by the buoys, 2FSK and 4MFSK. HXV firmware uses 2FSK, where HVA firmware uses 4MFSK.
2FSK uses 65 HzHertz (Hz), unit of frequency, defined as one cycle per second (1 Hz). shift at 40 bdBaud (unit symbol Bd) is the unit for symbol rate or modulation rate in symbols per second.. 4MFSK uses 4 frequencies at ~85 HzHertz (Hz), unit of frequency, defined as one cycle per second (1 Hz). shift between frequencies at 40 bdBaud (unit symbol Bd) is the unit for symbol rate or modulation rate in symbols per second.

Possible Erroneous Transmissions[edit]
It is possible to find an improperly configured buoy transmitting the wrong transmission type.
